We absolutely love this lovely, simple and nurturing stable. There is no pressure at all, just a genuinely caring environment where the children can build confidence and enjoy spending time with the horses. It’s such a special place to connect with the animals and learn properly from the ground up.
[My daughter] started here when she was just 5 years old, and one of the things I really value is that the children are involved in all aspects of stable life — including the hard work like poop picking! It teaches responsibility, respect and teamwork, not just riding.
She does lots of different activities to a very high level, but if she could choose only one thing, it would always be Nancy and the horses. She comes home every time feeling so relaxed, happy and grounded. We are incredibly grateful for everything this stable has given her.

First of all, just to say a massive thanks for accepting [my daughter] on a regular bi/weekly Saturday. She couldn’t be happier and every time I pick her up, she spends the rest of the day telling us all the details of her experience. "I absolutely love the Holistic Horse and Pony Centre - the horses are allowed to be horses, and the people are wonderfully open-hearted, warm and friendly. I came back into riding after a long break and found the whole new way of being with horses that I had been searching for. Now I am now helping out with the Sunday Pony Club and I have a special pony to have fun with both on the ground and in the saddle (or more often, bareback!). My sessions with Wendy have been transformative - as a creative and writer herself she really understands the kinds of issues that come up for me, and has a wonderful gentle way of trusting you and the horses to work things out together, without diving in and doing it for you, but by holding the space for you to discover and express anything you need to. Wendy and John and the horses have created such a special space - you have to come and experience it for yourself. Book yourself on one of Wendy's courses too, and prepare for yet more exciting personal growth!"
